The performance of the night at Monday's MTV VMAs undoubtedly goes to Missy Elliott who performed a medley of some of her greatest hits.

Missy performed "Get Your Freak On" and "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)," her performance also included a cameo from Alyson Stoner, who was featured in Elliott's music videos for “Work It,” “Gossip Folks” and "I'm Really Hot" when she was just nine years old.

Fans were ecstatic to see Stoner on stage to perform "Work It" with Missy. She was dressed in a yellow Adidas tracksuit with her name emblazoned on the back in a nod. Missy has been rocking Adidas for years.

The legendary rapper was honored with the Video Vanguard award at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards - something well-deserved.

Last week, Missy released her new album, Iconology - 14 years after she released her previous album, The Cookbook. During a recent interview with Marie Claire, Missy described the new album saying, “it’s time to make street dudes enjoy dancing again, like in the days of Soul Train,” adding, “It’s okay… It’s not corny.”
