Cardi B spilled some of her own tea yesterday on Instagram. She told fans that she got arrested when she was in middle school - for "fighting."
The 13 year old Cardi - who then went by the name "Bacardi" - got her friends to write a personal note in her graduation sign book. And it's surprising what the middle school students wrote.
In the book, Cardi's friends referred to her as "n*gga" and used rampant profanity.
One of her friends gave Cardi good advice, and told her to "stay out of jail."
Cardi claims that was good advice, because she was arrested a few days before graduating middle school. She didn't give specific details, but she claims that she was "fighting."
Here's Cardi reminiscing about the "Good Old Days"
Cardi, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, grew up in The Bronx with a Dominican father and Trinidadian/Spaniard mother.
She was raised in the High bridge neighborhood of the South Bronx, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world.
Almánzar developed the stage name "Cardi B" as a derivation of Bacardi, a rum brand by which people used to call her. As a youth, Cardi B joined the Bloods and has remained a gang member since the age of 16.
