Cardi B has revealed that she turned down the Super Bowl halftime show in support of former NFL player, Colin Kaepernick.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Cardi said:

“I got to sacrifice a lot of money to perform. I got to sacrifice a lot of money to perform. But there’s a man who sacrificed his job for us, so we got to stand behind him.” 

“If the NFL could benefit off from us, then I’m going to benefit off y’all…Because of y’all, we are getting these parties.”

Cardi did feature in a commercial for Pepsi alongside Steve Carrell and Lil Jon which aired during the event, you can check it out below.

Many celebrities turned down the show but later turned up in Super Bowl commercials throughout the event. So, are ads not included in the NFL protest too? We guess not...
