You know the old wives tale -about going upside your boyfriend with a frying pan? Well it happened in real life, with tragic consequences.
But in this case, the boyfriend did NOT cheat.
A 33-year-old woman from Camden, New Jersey, has been charged with beating her boyfriend with two frying pans. The alleged beating took place about a month ago, inside a local grocery store - and the boyfriend died last week.
Maleia Cole was being held Tuesday in the death of Jason Lewis, 35, also of Camden.
Officials said on Sept. 2 law enforcement authorities responded to an emergency call about an aggravated assault of a man inside Pantry One, a grocery store.
When the officers arrived, Jason was conscious and suffered from serious head injuries, including cuts to his face.
Once he regained consciousness he told the officers that Cole had followed him across the street and into the store, all the while beating him repeatedly with the frying pans. Afterward, she left in the direction of her home on Mount Ephraim Avenue, he said.
He was hospitalized with pain and dizziness, and received emergency surgery, but died Sept. 26 of the injuries sustained in the attack. Cole was charged Sept. 30 with one count of first-degree murder.
