Bravo is moving in a "younger" direction, according to an insider, and plans on releasing the two oldest Housewives - Nene, 50, and Cynthia, 51. Kandi Burress, 42, is also on the chopping block, tells the insider. But so far no decision has been made with respect to her, MTO News has learned.
According to a TOP source at Bravo, executives are looking to move the show in what is being described as a "new direction". And by "new" they mean younger.
The execs are worried about the "aging" demographic of the Atlanta Housewife viewer. While the show had been getting great ratings in overall viewers - the audience was getting older and older. Last year, the average age of an Atlanta Housewife viewer was over 40.
So they made cast changes this season, and so far it's paying off. The ratings for this season so far show a double-digit growth in the core 18-34 female demographic. The overall ratings of the show dropped, but the average age of a viewer has dropped dramatically also.
And they plan on making more changes to the cast. We're told that Nene and Cynthia are both expected to be released at the end of the season. The insider told MTO News, "They want to get younger."
The execs at Bravo so far are happy with Eva Marcelle, 34, and Shamari Devoe, 38, and think Tanya Sam, 36, is a good addition also. The suits are also happy with Porsha Williams, 37, who is expecting her first child early next year.
