John Robert Hill, also known as “Boonk Gang” and has with more than 1 million Instagram followers, was arrested again last night in Los Angeles. The social media star has been taken into custody and charged with criminal assault.

Police are looking into whether the assault was also a hate crime - since his victim is openly gay - and Boonk allegedly made anti-gay comments during the attack.

The incident occurred on the set of Boonk's new music video. Boonk allegedly attacked the director - after the director made "constructive" suggestions to the social media star.

If you listen closely, Boonk can be heard calling the director a "f*ggot"  while he hits him.

Here is the video of the assault:

Boonk Gang is known for performing stunts like stealing a box of chicken from a fast-food restaurant to gain publicity for his career. A video online shows him going behind the counter at Popeyes and filling a box with chicken and leaving without paying, while staff shout at him. The video, the first in his series of stunts, went viral, he said. He was arrested for some of his other stunts, including for stealing a tray of doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts.

Boonk Gang was also in hot water earlier this summer when he posted to his Instagram story a hardcore sexual act. More than 5 million people watched the porno videos Boonk Gang posted. His Instagram account was shut down at the time he had more than 5 million followers on the platform.
