Ronald K. Davis was shot and killed by St. Paul Minnesota police on September 15th. And yesterday the police finally released the body cam footage, which shows the deadly shooting.
The video shows that Ronald rear-ended a St. Paul police squad car, then he immediately ran toward the officer.
Officer Steven Mattson had on his body camera. The camera was constantly moving though - so you couldn't see what came next. But you could hear the officer say, “Holy (expletive).”
A witness, however, claims that he saw Ronald struggle with the officer, and throw him to the ground.
Seconds later, it appeared that Ronald, 31, had a knife in one hand and a flashlight in the other as he continued to run at the officer.
Officer Mattson then shouted, “Get away from me. Drop the knife. Drop the (expletive) knife. Drop the knife!,” and then he shot Davis.
The entire encounter lasted only 13 seconds. Ronald Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
