Rapper Bobby Shmurda was arrested in 2014 - just one year after he broke on the scene in New York. The rapper was clearly on the path to super stardom before police charged him with an "old" drug case. The charges stem from alleged activity that Bobby did BEFORE he made it big.
Bobby is currently appealing his case, and is asking President Trump for a pardon. But while in prison, he's making the best of things. The "Hot Boy" rapper is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence at New York's Clinton Correctional Facility for conspiracy in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a weapon. He has been locked up since 2014 when he was apprehended during a sting operation along with several members of his GS9 crew at Quad Studios in New York City.
According to a report in April, he could be eligible for parole in 2020. His parole hearing is August 2020, and he could be eligible for early release from prison on parole as early as December of that year.
According to reports, Bobby now does 1,000 pushups a day - as part of his physical fitness routine. When he was arrested, Bobby was a skinny kid. But now - he's grown into a strong man.

This past Friday (July 13), the Brooklyn MC's mother gave an update on the incarcerated rapper's status to fans. "My baby said 'BIG SHMURDA ON THE SET SHOW SOME RESPECT,'" she captioned a jailhouse photo of the rapper wearing prison-issued slacks, a tank top and dark shades.
She added, "He is maintaining great spirits and will be home before you know it!!!!!"
