Australian pop singer/musician Sia is being accused of racism, as pics of her apparently in "blackface" leaked online yesterday.

Blackface is a form of theatrical make-up used predominantly by non-black performers to insult and demean black people.

Here are the images of Sia in "blackface" that are going viral:

Sia is now in a whirlwind of controversy, and is trying to fight back against the scandal.

According to Sia, she has a perfectly logical explanation for wearing Black makeup on her face:

Unfortunately, many don't believe Sia, and a new hashtag #BoycottSia is gaining traction online.

This scandal was dug up, interestingly enough, by Taylor Swift fans. They're upset with Sia because she shared a message of support for Taylor's rival Scooter Braun.

Yesterday, the world of music woke up to news that Taylor Swift and music entrepreneur Scooter Braun are at war over a new acquisition deal which saw the manager gain control of Swift’s music.

Braun’s Ithaca Holdings acquired Big Machine Records – the label Taylor Swift released all of her albums on up until 2019 – for $300 million, effectively meaning that the rights to all of Swift’s music is now in his control.

Swift described the situation as a “worst case scenario” on Tumblr, claiming that Braun was responsible for “incessant, manipulative bullying” over the years.
