[social_warfare]

Kenya Barris is the Hollywood producer who is known for creating the hit tv series’ Black-ish and Grown-ish. Both shows feature a Black family, where one of the main characters is mixed race.

Now Kenya is pushing a new TV series. In this show the lead actors Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff will be in an interracial relationship and Black Twitter isn’t happy.

When news of Kenya’s new show surfaced online Black Twitter immediately responded with its exasperation at his unwillingness to have a black family show that is actually – all black. His fatigued fans are now accusing him of trying to “mix-wash” Black families and are tired of the playbook. According to them Kenya doesn’t seem interested in real blackness but an idealized Hollywood version of it. Essentially, the same ole, same ole.
