MTONews obtained footage taken from a LIVESTREAM killing. The shooter is claiming SELF DEFENSE. And while the victim was UNARMED - the shooter is hoping to take advantage of North Carolina's "STAND YOUR GROUND" law.
The "stand your ground" law allows a citizen to SHOOT AND KILL an unarmed person - if he "fears for his life." This incident if different because it's the first time the shooter was Black and the victim was White.
The incident occurred on June 25, 2018 in Albemarle, North Carolina. Two men got into a verbal altercation on the 100 block of Anderson Road near the VFW Hut. One of them was livestreaming the altercation on Snapchat.
The two men were insulting each other, and the Black man informed the White guy that he was armed and was "standing his ground." Despite hearing the warning, the White man continued to argue.
Eventually the incident escalated to deadly force, whereby the streamer put away his phone and pulled out a loaded gun. When he resumed streaming, the opponent was on the road, bleeding from the chest.
The victim has been identified as Jason Dennis Braley of Gold Hill, North Carolina - he later died of his injuries.
The suspect – Hasan Akeem Webster, was reportedly still on the scene when cops arrived. Surprisingly, he was arrested and charged with First Degree murder. You'll recall that in the case of George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin - police LET HIM GO HOME THAT NIGHT.
