A video purporting to show a Black woman being shot as she partied inside a "Purge" party in Louisiana was uploaded online - and the video is going internationally viral. It's already been seen more than 5,000,000 times.
The details surrounding the shooting are very bizarre, and police in Madison Parrish have not been very forthcoming with the information. But folks on social media are VERY concerned that a young woman may have been killed in some sort of a ritual murder.
Police in Tallulah, Louisiana have revealed that a shooting occurred at the P.E.G. Centre in Madison Parrish on Friday night. According to authorities, one person was killed and 5 others were injured by the shooting.
Police are refusing to reveal the gender, or the names of any of the victims.
Now here's where it gets weird. The party was a "Purge" party. People paid $10 to go to the party named after the popular horror flick.
In the movie The Purge, the government sanctions an annual 12-hour period during which all criminal activity -- including murder -- is legal.
Before the Tallulah "Purge" party was over, 6 people were injured by gunshots, and one dead. And surprisingly police have not yet arrested anyone in connection with the shooting.
The bizarre nature of a shooting at a "Purge" party attended by African Americans has created a breeding ground for conspiracy theories on social media. Some are speculating that the shootings may have even been promoted or sanctioned by police.
Here's a flyer from the event:
Hours after the shooting, a video appeared online that purports to show footage from inside the "Purge" party in Louisiana. At the end of the footage, a young woman is seen dancing and enjoying herself - and then just minutes later, is lying motionless, and covered in blood.
