The University of Florida's graduation has been marred - as three Black students were ASSAULTED by one of the University's professor. So far the University has APOLOGIZED, but the professor has not been named - and he's not been ARRESTED.
MTO News obtained the shocking video, below, which shows the graduates walking across the stage to receive their diplomas as their names are called.
Some graduates walked across the did a celebratory dance - which was to be expected. The response of the University professor, however, was FAR from expected.
The video shows one of the University professors ASSAULTING the students. Sometimes TACKLING them. And the professor ONLY did that to the Black students. Multiple White students did celebratory dances - but NONE were assaulted.
The videos have sparked outrage by University Of Florida alumni, parents and current students who claim the staff member was only physical with black and other minority students.
The incident forced the University of Florida president to issue an apology for the 'inappropriately aggressive' behavior.
According to ABC, "University of Florida President Kent Fuchs acknowledged that the school had been “inappropriately aggressive” while rushing graduates across the stage on Saturday as video of the incident stirred controversy online."
The report continued:
“During one of this weekend’s commencement ceremonies, we were inappropriately aggressive in rushing students across the stage,” Fuchs said in a tweet on Sunday. “I personally apologize, and am reaching out to the students involved.” Fuchs reiterated those comments during a speech at another one of the university’s spring commencement ceremonies on Sunday afternoon.
Here's what he did to the students:
