Rapper Big Sean addressed his mental health, and his breakup with longtime girlfriend Jhene Aiko in three videos posted on his Instagram over the weekend.
The rapper claims that he's now seeing a therapist, after realizing that many of his relationships - including the one with Jhene - had become "toxic"
Big Sean has spoken out previously about his struggles with anxiety and depression, which forced him to cancel a tour in 2018.
This weekend, the rapper told fans that he went through a difficult period last year around his 30th birthday.
He says that around that time, he realized he was facing issues which needed "special attention" and had therapy for his problems.
"I wasn't feeling like myself and I couldn't figure out why," he said on Instagram.
"I just felt lost - and I don't know how I got there."
Regarding his relationships, including the one he had with Jhene Aiko - he called them "toxic."
Big Sean and Aiko, who started dating in 2016, both shot down the dating claims initially in public. "Sorry, but nothing about you guy's fan fiction stories are true... I still love you tho," Aiko said on Twitter at the time. It was later confirmed that the two were an item and Aiko showed off Then, in May 2018, Aiko shared a snap of herself with her tattoo artist at work on her back, writing, "Realizing ALL things are temporary, I rejoice in this moment."
Big Sean broke up with Jhene shortly after his 30th birthday. Since then, he's been rumored to have begun dating pop superstar Ariana Grande again.
He posted three videos on his social media, in which he spoke openly about his experiences.
