BBeyonce’s sister is in NY for Fashion Week – and she’s showing off a very DIFFERENT look.
We’re not quite sure what we think about it . . . But it is definitely FASHION FORWARD . . .
Solange has never been one to shy away from old hairstyles. After all, she is the creator of the anthemic "Don't Touch My Hair" from her album, A Seat At The Table. Unlike her big sister, Solange tends favor expressing herself using her natural God-given assets rather than opting for wigs and weaves.
She wore the bold fro to the Stuart Weitzman cocktail party during NYFW where she attended with the creative director, Giovanni Morelli.
The "Cranes In The Sky" singer has worn a blonde afro before, albeit a shorter one last Fall. Her stylist, Chuck Amos said of the style:
"She asked for a natural, shorter Afro look, other than the blonde braids we’ve been seeing on her... I thought it would be fresh to make her texture look like coral from the sea! Sort of Joie Lee texture from the late 80s."
The singer, who has been privately battling with an illness for quite some time, recently revealed her diagnoses during a post on Instagram where she was forced to pull out of performing at the AFROPUNK Festival:
"Wrote, deleted and re wrote this like 5 times...
Still not sure what exactly or how much I want to share...
However it’s so important to me for the people in South Africa, a place that has tremendous meaning to me and that has given me SO SO MUCH, to know why I won’t be performing at Afro Punk this NYE.
The past five months I have been quietly treating, and working through an Autonomic Disorder. It been a journey that hasn’t been easy on me..."
If she hadn't told us, we wouldn't be able to tell. She looks happy and healthy.
Are you feeling Solange's blonde fro?
