A 35-year-old San Jose, California woman named Samantha Moreno Rodriguez, who is being called a “model” on Instagram is accused of killing her 7-year-old son and then dumping his body, MTO News has learned. And police claim she did it to start “a new life.”
According to local reports, Moreno Rodriguez is accused of killing her son, Liam Husted, and later dumped his body outside of Las Vegas. Police told the press that Samantha was arrested earlier this month in Denver, after hikers in the area discovered the body of a then-unidentified child.

Police say that Samantha left a message to the father of her child before little innocent Liam was found dead. Police say that Samantha wrote to her babys father, “I’m going to try and get a house for Liam and I, and we can talk about this in the future.”
Las Vegas Metro Homicide team told media, “There’s every indication that when she left San Jose that she was intending on starting a new life.”
Social media reports say that Samantha was active on Instagram, but deleted her account after she was arrested, MTO News has learned. Some on social media are calling her IG pics “modeling” images.
When she was arrested, homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said that she “was dressed up and had makeup.” She was arrested earlier this month while eating at a restaurant with a man, apparently on a date.
