One of the Cleremont twins from the show Bad Girls Club was arrested for prostituting herself. Federal prosecutors believe that she also stole a dead trick's identity.
Right now it's not clear whether she was involved in the riick's death, or whether she knew he was dead before stealing his identity.
Here's how it is being reported by The Blast:
According to the U.S. Attorney, Shannade Clermont has been charged with wire fraud, access device fraud and aggravated identity theft.
Officials say Clermont stole the debit card information “of a man she had visited for a prostitution date and who was found dead in his apartment the next morning from a drug overdose.”
The man, who was not named, died due to an overdose of cocaine and fentanyl. Investigators collected his iPhone, wallet and a loose condom from his bed after he was discovered dead.
Investigators were told by a doorman that Clermont said her name was “Audrey,” and she was seen with the victim hours before he was discovered dead.
It’s unclear if Clermont knew the victim was dead before she allegedly took the credit card information.
According to text messages recovered by officials from the victim’s phone, Clermont had agreed to have a date with the man for $400.
U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said, “As alleged, Shannade Clermont, a former cast member of the “Bad Girls Club,” lived up to her reality series reputation. He continued, “Clermont’s new reality is federal prosecution for her alleged nefarious conduct.”
