Asap Rocky confirms he took part in the George Floyd protests after he was snapped taking a picture during the Los Angeles demonstrations -- but fans did not manage to spot him marching.
Rocky was captured posing in front of a metal gate with "Fuck 12," written in graffiti along with a signature -- but fans wondered if he was just posing but not actually protesting.
"WE PROTESTED N DEEZ STREETS, NO PRESS ,NO CAMERAS ,NO INSTAGRAM .NOT 4 NO BRAGGIN RIGHTS OR PHOTO OPPS, SH*T WAS JUST GENUINE. 4 ONCE ITS LIKE DA WHOLE 🌎SHARED THE SAME PAIN, I DONT POST MY EVERY MOVE, NOT MY THING BUT WE FAR FROM SILENT N ITS STILL FUK12!"
Fans may have been surprised considering Rocky's previous opinions about the Black Lives Matter movement.
I just get upset, and what I was really trying to say there was, like, yo, I just, I hate when the bandwagon stuff start. I mean, how come, you know, Black lives only matter when a police take 'em, when a police officer takes it? And it should be like, Black lives, it should matter when a black life take it. You know what I mean? It should always matter. All lives matter!" he said during an interview on The Breakfast Club back in 2016.
