YNW Melly has canceled his request to have a speedy trial to make sure that everybody is prepared.
The rapper is facing the death penalty for allegedly murdering two members of his YNW crew.
In January Melly requested that a trial begin within 50 days and the judge set a trial date for March 7. His trial will now begin in May.
According to documents obtained by DJ Akademiks, prosecutors have evidence that proves the rapper fired the fatal shots.
The ballistic reports, DNA evidence and phone records all point to the rapper being the shooter. Prosecutors also have evidence that the vehicle was shot up after the killing.
On social media, YNW Melly acted heartbroken over the killings.
“They took my brothers from me over jealousy,” he wrote, adding that the killers “want to see me break down and stop or in jail or a box.”
The rapper denies the charges against him and has pleaded not guilty. His manager thinks a jury will find him not guilty.
