Britney Spears is claiming that her father, Jamie Spears, is trying to extort her for $25 million.
The pop singer’s lawyers filed paperwork alleging her father has demanded about $2 million as a “quid pro quo” condition to back out of the contentious conservatorship agreement — in violation of the agreement he made earlier.
“Britney Spears will not be bullied or extorted by her father,” attorney Mathew Rosengart said in a statement per Page Six. “Nor does Mr. Spears have the right to try to hold his daughter hostage by setting the terms of his removal.”

In a statement to People, the attorney says, “Even putting aside the legal issues requiring his prompt removal, if he loves his daughter, Mr. Spears should resign now, today, before he is suspended,” he continues. “It would be the correct and decent thing to do.”
Jamie had agreed to step away as her guardian as long as the transition was smooth — but it looks like he may just be looking to line his own pockets.
