Amelia Hamlin, the daughter of Beverly Hills Housewife Lisa Rinna and girlfriend of Scott Disick — has denied allegations of “blackfishing” following a recent Instagram post.
She says she just tans easily.
Blackfishing was coined by journalist Wanna Thompson to describe non-Black (mostly white) people who modify their hair, skin tone features with products to appear Black or Black-ish.
Fans noticed that Amelia appears several shades darker in the new pics that she usually does in her posts. Her fans do not believe it is just a tan… but she says it is.
“I’m receiving a lot of comments in regards to my latest photo,” she wrote. “I am being told that I am ‘black fishing.'”
She continued: “Thank you all for educating me on this topic. I recently went on vacation in the sun, and with my Italian heritage I tan very easily. There is no self tanner involved. Or intention of looking darker than my own natural skin color.”
