Hollywood actor Johnny Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard is requesting that a judge dismiss the $50 million defamation suit filed by her former husband.

Depp filed the suit after Heard wrote an op-ed accusing Depp of domestic violence against her.

"Imagine a powerful man as a ship, like the Titanic. That ship is a huge enterprise. When it strikes an iceberg, there are a lot of people on board desperate to patch up holes — not because they believe in or even care about the ship, but because their own fates depend on the enterprise," she wrote in the article for the Washington Post.

Earlier this year, former fans of Depp's who had turned their backs on him after Heard accused him of physical violence, were shocked to hear evidence that Heard had in fact, allegedly physically assaulted, Depp. Fans were quick to apologize to the actor and he trended online after the public deemed that they had wronged him.

But Heard is sticking to her story.

"Johnny Depp physically and verbally abused Amber Heard," her attorney Eric George said in a statement per USA Today.

"Since their divorce, Mr. Depp has continued to publically harass Ms. Heard, and attempted to gaslight the world by denying his abuse. It is long past time for Mr. Depp's despicable conduct to end."
