Omari Hardwick and his wife Jennifer aka Jae are an interracial couple - she's White and he's Black. And yesterday they celebrated being in an interracial marriage. The couple celebrated national "Loving Day" - also known as "Interracial Relationship Day." He married Jae in 2012 and they have two children.
51 years ago - on June 12, 1967, the Supreme Court came down with the IMPORTANT decision to legalize interracial marriage. Before that date, it was ILLEGAL for Black people to marry White people.
They make a cute couple.
Here they are:
After graduation, Omari was not selected in the NFL draft but tried to make the roster of the NFL San Diego Chargers.
As a struggling actor, Hardwick did odd jobs in order to pay for acting classes. After being unsuccessful, he started living in his car, and he finally got his break in 2004 TV Movie Sucker Free City. Next, he booked roles in feature film The Guardian and a series regular role in Saved. For the role, he spent two years training as a fireman and a paramedic.
In 2013, Hardwick was cast in the lead role of James Ghost St. Patrick on the Starz crime drama-thriller, Power.
The season five premier of power is just a few weeks away. Omari made predictions recently to Page Six about who would make the best female boss. “Angela (played by Lela Loren) would make a good boss because there is a callousness about her,” he said.
“Power” is created by Courtney Kemp and executive produced by 50 Cent. It returns to television Sunday, July 1.
