A video is going viral, showing an acid attack that place that took place yesterday in London.

The attack appears to be the result of a road rage incident. The victims got into an argument with two men in another car. And seconds later, the two men suffered disfiguring injuries.

Images from the scene show the men sitting on the side of the road being doused in water.

The pair, aged in their 20s, were found suffering from burns by police and paramedics.

Both were taken to east London hospitals. Neither suffered life threatening injuries.

Here's a graphic video showing the attack:

Here's an image of the victim after the attack. Those light spots on his face are expected to scab, and his face will be permanently disfigured.

A police spokesman said: “It is alleged that the victim had been approached by two suspects, both wearing burkhas, and had the substance thrown at him before they fled in a waiting car.”

An acid attack is a violent assault defined as the act of throwing acid or a similarly corrosive substance onto the body of another "with the intention to disfigure, maim, torture, or kill".

Perpetrators of these attacks throw corrosive liquids at their victims, usually at their faces, burning them, and damaging skin tissue, often exposing and sometimes dissolving the bones

The UK has one of highest rates of acid attacks in the world, according to the police. According to the Metropolitan Police, 2017 was the worst year for acid attacks in London, with 465 attacks recorded, up from 395 the previous year and 255 in 2015.
