Jason Hitch, who appeared in Season 2 of TLC's 90 Day Fiancé, died Tuesday night of Covid at 45.
His sister Shannon confirmed his death to TMZ. Shannon told TMZ that her brother was not vaccinated and did not have pre-existing medical conditions.
On the show, Hitch met and later married 23-year-old Cássia Tavares, who moved from Brazil to be with him in Florida. Hitch traveled to Curitiba, Brazil, to help Taraves move to his hometown, Spring Hill.
"Cassia getting bored here has been on my mind," Hitch told the cameras during a confessional. She did not enjoy the weather or what Spring Hill had to offer. The couple started a mail-order snack business called Gifting Fun.
Hitch and Taraves split in 2017 and filed for divorce the following year.
"We are saddened to hear about the passing of Jason Hitch and send our sincere condolences to his family and friends at this time," TLC said in a statement.
