Good news for Tekashi 6ix9ine and his remaining fans as his sentencing date has now been moved up to December 2019.

The rapper was initially slated to be sentenced on Jan. 24, 2020.

Last week, a motion was filed by his defense attorneys to have the rapper's sentencing expedited.

"The parties respectfully write to request that a pre-sentence investigation report be ordered and that a sentencing date be scheduled for Mr. Hernandez," the filing states per documents obtained by The Blast.

"Counsel for Mr. Hernandez respectfully requests that sentencing be scheduled on an expedited basis. The government does not object to this request. In order to facilitate the request for expedited sentencing," the letter continues.

The new date makes sense as there had been reports that he would be getting released from jail in January. Tekashi has reportedly refused witness protection upon his release and hopes to return to music.

According to Complex, the new sentencing date is scheduled for Dec. 18, 2019, at 10 a.m. ET.
