Last year Camilla Cabello officially LEFT the female pop group FIFTH HARMONY. Now there’s another one going solo.
MediaTakeOut.com learned that singer NORMANI is the next one to LEAVE THE GROUP.
Normani has been testing the waters for some time, releasing a few solo projects – but now she’s READY TO LEAVE.
A person close to the singer explained, “Normani still has to play out her contract – but she’s basically A SOLO ARTIST now.”
On Valentine's Day, the singer dropped her single "Love Lies," a collaboration with the singer Khalid. The single has already made history for having the highest charting debut single from a Black female singer this decade on iTunes.
During an interview with Zane Lowe, she opened up about the impact that solo projects have on the group.
"I think that it’s a space that we created amongst the four of us, that nobody else will probably understand,” she explained. “It’s not easily understood, but it’s something that we understand within each other, and we’re confident women individually and also together but we do recognize that you know at the end of the day none of us would have these individual opportunities to explore ourselves or to show the world who we are, without each other.”
Normani has had a hard time of it since joining the group. Despite her success, she is regularly the target of cyberbullying and internet trolls who bombard her with racist tweets. But revenge is sweet, and Normani's solo career is already bearing fruit.
