A 34-year-old Indiana man who supports President Trump was arrested for murdering his own mother.
Jason A. Steiss, whose social media pages are filled with support for the divisive American president, allegedly told police that he was “possessed by demons and Hitler.” Police say that Jason made the claims after he was arrested in connection with the murder of his mother.
According to a probable cause affidavit which identified the victim as Joy Steiss, Jason allegedly told police, "I murdered my mother."
A local TV station reported that Jason, according to the affidavit, told police: “I am a bad person, kill me, I need to be put down so I don’t hurt anyone else.”
Jason's father called 911 after he says that Jason called and confessed to murdering his mom. Jason reportedly told his dad, “I hurt my mom, hurt her real bad, blood all over, please help.”
In an interview with police, Steiss said he attacked his mother, bit her, hit, punched and choked her, the affidavit and the probable cause document read. Police said Steiss "repeatedly" said in the interview that he needed to go to prison for what he did.
Jason's social media pages are filled with messages supporting President Trump, as well as racist and anti-immigrant rhetoric.
According to the affidavit, Steiss called his father just before 1 a.m. Wednesday and said, "I hurt my Mom hurt her real bad, blood all over please help." His father then called 911.
Steiss is due in court Oct. 30. He's being held on a $20,000 bond.
