Model Tabria Majors weights 218 pounds and is close to 6 feet tall. That used to be considered TOO BIG to be a supermodel.
But not anymore. Tabria just signed an exclusive multi-year deal – to be a Calvin Klein model.
This is huge news! Of course, this is not her first modeling gig. The plus-sized beauty recently landed the cover of Sports Illustrated and currently has deals with Walmart, Target, Nike, Kohl's, Forever 21, Fashion Nova, Charlotte Rouse, Ashley Stewart, Arianna Pappell to name just a few.
She also regularly recreates Victoria Secret ads on her page, in a bid to encourage them to recruit plus sized lingerie models - a sentiment she shares with Ashley Graham.
"It's really trendy to have plus-size models in your ads now," said Majors, "I'm trying to use my platform for body positivity and being an activist for women of all sizes, shapes, and colors. It's been interesting."
Calvin Klein has a history of welcoming fuller-figured ladies to their campaigns. In 2014 they signed model Myla Dalbesio who at the time, was only a size 10 ( a UK size 14,) sparking debate over whether her size should even be considered "plus size."
Obviously basking in the news of her recent deal with the fashion giants, Majors posted a self of her wearing a Calvin Klein two-piece to her Instagram just yesterday. Calvin Klein has yet to make an official statement to the press, but the news should be announced any day now!
Congrats to her.
Do you think that high fashion brands should be signing more plus-sized model?
