A 15 year old boy is charged with strangling his mother to death, after they argued about him getting a D grade at school.
Police say that Gregory Logan Ramos, 15, argued with his mother, Gail Cleavenger, 46, at their home in DeBary, Florida after he got a D grade at school.
The teen, who studied Brazilian Ju Jitsu is believed to have strangled his mother to death later and buried her body on the grounds of a nearby church, police say.
Gregory and his mother began arguing about his D grade at around 11pm Thursday night. Police say the 15 year old woke her up at around 12.30am in the early hours of Friday morning and put her in a Ju Jitsu chokehold, that cut off her air supply.
Police did not specify which Brazilian Ju Jitsu choke the teen used to murder his mother.
'He went into her room and woke her up and began strangling her and strangled her till he killed her,' Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood said, added that the motive was 'rage'.
During his confession Gregory allegedly said he used a wheelbarrow to move her body into the family van and then he drove to River City Church 1.5 miles away where he buried her in a fire pit.
The teen was charged with the murder Saturday morning after police obtained the boy’s “full and detailed confession.”
“The case we worked tonight was one of the most disturbing and saddest I’ve seen in my career,” Sheriff Mike Chitwood said in a Friday evening statement. “I have a feeling this is a case we’ll be hearing about for years to come. All our hearts break for this family.
Ramos ultimately told detectives that he got two friends to help him stage the burglary — 17-year-olds Dylan Ceglarek and Brian Porras, who police say are also facing multiple criminal charges.
