The Black Lives Matter Movement is widely regarded as the 21st century's Civil Rights Movement. Its members are looking to stop the rampant KILLING of innocent Black people by police officers - who are seen as immune from justice. The Black Lives Matter Movement does not promote violence, in any way.
Nevertheless, nearly 100,000 people have signed a petition to call it a "terrorist organization." This country is in a world of trouble.
The FBI defines terrorism as “the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof in furtherance of political or social objectives,” none of which the movement has knowingly engaged in.
The Black Lives Matter movement was co-founded by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi following George Zimmerman’s acquittal for the 2012 death of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed teen gunned down.
